Louise Glück (Nova York, 1943) és una de les més importants poetes vives nord-americanes en actiu i de la llengua anglesa en general. Guanyadora de múltiples premis i reconeixements, entre els quals, el prestigiós Pulitzer, posseeix una extensa obra que, a diferència de l’autora Deborah Digges, de qui es pot trobar un poema en aquest mateix blog el mes passat, es mou per territoris menys espirituals i més materials i immediatament emocionals que aquesta. Crec que aquest petit poema n’és una bona mostra.

La cosa més gran
no és que puguem
pensar. Els sentiments,
oh, i jo en tinc; ells són
els que manen en mi. I tinc
un senyor al cel
anomenat sol, per al qual
m’obro i ensenyo la foguera del cor, encesa

Què podria ser una semblant glòria
